Room Settings
 
We have 4 main rooms at our Lickey nursery and each room is age appropriate to ensure it accommodates and caters for the physical and developmental needs of the children. We also have 2 separate garden areas that are geared to provide stimulating activities planned around the six areas of learning and development. Your child will only progress to the next stage of nursery when they are emotionally and developmentally ready. Their progress will be discussed with you and, when you are happy, their transition period will begin to ensure a smooth and comfortable move to the next stage of their development.

The Baby Room
 
Our Baby Room caters for a maximum of 6 babies, this room has been carefully planned in order to provide the children with a safe and stimulating learning environment. You and your child will be offered the opportunity to attend some settling in sessions for a month prior to starting at the nursery. We find this to be a valuable experience for both you and your child. Our babies benefit from a wide variety of carefully chosen equipment that challenges their learning and promotes their all round development. All of our activities are carefully planned around the EYFS framework. The baby room also has access to our garden areas that have been carefully developed, we provide the babies with water proof suits to ensure they can explore the outdoors in all weathers.

The Tiny Tots Room
 
The Tiny Tots room is designed to provide your child with a stimulating, safe and relaxing environment to learn through play. New experiences will be carefully planned for your child according to their individual needs. All activities are planned around the birth to five framework (EYFS). They will have the opportunity to engage in plenty of free flow play as well as carefully planned activities endeavouring to enhance their learning. The Tiny Tots also have access to our garden areas, here they will interactive with some of the slightly older children at nursery, we find this helps to smooth their transition as they progress to other rooms within the nursery.

Tweenies: The Tweenie room has been carefully developed to ensure your child can freely access the 6 areas of learning at all times. In addition to your child enjoying plenty of free flow play, the staff also plan carefully focused activities appropriate to each child’s development. The Tweenie room also has access to one of our garden area’s, this is shared with preschool children. The nursery toilets are easily accessible to help support toilet training within this unit.
 

Pre-School: The term after your child becomes three years old they will more into our newly refurbished pre-school room. This consists of a large, spacious, carefully planned learning environment that also promotes the six areas of learning throughout. All nursery equipment is easily accessible to all of the children and we ensure it is displayed in an attractive way that encourages the children to investigate and explore through play.
 
All pre-school children at the nursery are provided with a wide variety of adult led activities carefully planned around educational topics and the individual child's interest. All children are encouraged to be independent in all they do, research shows that this will give them the confidence they need when they leave us to attend school. We provide a session for each day that covers letters and sounds. The foundation stage unit within nursery has the added advantage of a free flow indoor/outdoor environment that is carefully planned around the six areas of learning and development.
