Healthy eating for the children

Sample menu - for 1yrs old and over

We have a two weekly rotation on the menus to ensure that children get a variety of different meals. We can cater for dietary or special requirements and vegetarians.

Breakfast
 Milk or water, a selection of cereals or toast
 
Mid morning snack
 
A selection of fruit with water
 
Lunch (sample)
 
Monday: Shepherd's pie
 
Tuesday:
Country chicken casserole
 
Wednesday:  Sausage Hotpot
 
Thursday:  Turkey lasagne
 
Friday:  Fish pie

At dessert time the children have a choice of fruit or yoghurts. Fruit may be stewed, tinned, fresh or dried.
 
We aim to offer children choices and seasonal fruit & vegetables whenever possible. All meals and snacks will be served with water.
 
Mid afternoon snack

Tea (sample)
High tea is not intended to replace an evening meal.
 
Monday:  Selection of sandwiches
 
Tuesday: Tortilla wraps with crunchy pepper sticks, cheese and chicken
 
Wednesday: Pitta fingers with cherry tomatoes and humous
 
Thursday:  Bagels with cream cheese and cucumber sticks
  
Friday:  Beans on toast

We provide a separate menu for babies under one, and for those babies who are just being weaned, we provide home cooked vegetable and fruit purees.
