Extra Curricular Activities
We feel it is very important for children to experience a varied curriculum so, as well as their daily planned activities, we provide children with extra activities as described below:
Rhythm Time
Every Tuesday morning Tina from "Rhythm time" visits the nursery to conduct a music
session. The children thoroughly enjoy this session as they are provided with the opportunity
to experiment with lots of different musical instruments and to learn new songs and rhymes.
Yoga
Every Wednesday afternoon children have the opportunity to join in with yoga that is taught by Amy Landon who is qualified within this area. Baby yoga sessions concentrate on leg, hip and arm movements made to nursery rhymes. With older children yoga is lead through creative stories and exciting adventures which helps to stimulate their imagination. Moves such as back arches, stretches, twists and balances will help maintain their flexibility and strengthen their mind and body. Yoga can also help to improve children's concentration and help them to sleep better.

The Orange Kitchen Cookery School at Becketts
Our Tweenie and Pre-school children have to opportunity to participate in cookery lessons
once a month at the Orange Kitchen which is run by a qualified chef. At this session
children will be taught about safety and rules in the kitchen and get the chance to make
some yummy cakes and dishes to take home. Staff ratio will be 1:2 at the session.
Nursery Outings
The children regularly take part in nursery outings most of which are related to the
planning or topic at the particular time. During the nursery outings we maintain an
adult to children ratio of 1:2. We also complete risk assessments prior to the visits.
